She usually starts with
lines, sketches and ends up with a cubism style.
Instead of viewing subjects from a single, fixed angle,
she breaks them up
into a multiplicity of facets, so that several different
aspects or faces of the
subject can be seen simultaneously.
Influenced by Picasso, Edi Hora, Faisal and Sunaryo,
Riyani paints people,
animals and other objects that can be found in daily
life. Born in 1972,
she started her painting career when she was a young
girl. She won her first
award when she was 11 years old. Riyani graduated from
The Academy of
Interior Design (Akademi Teknik Desain Interior) Jakarta,
and has participated
in numerous group exhibitions and presented several
solo exhibitions in Indonesia.
She has received several awards.
